- a novel by Coco Mellors
Ever since her first novel, I patiently waited, more than I should've, for her second… And my, oh my! Did. I. Love. This. One!!! At this point in the very early stages of our relationship, I've developed a bias for Coco, Missus, Mellors. She can do very little wrong in my eyes.
This book, such a tender book. It follows four sisters scattered around the map, who’ve just lost their fifth. Ridden with her memories, each sister finds her way back to their childhood home that their mother is planning to sell.

Written with fine cinematic scenes and conversations, the book and Mellor, once again, perfects the portrayal of complicated human emotions. This time, through grief & coping.
Intricate familial relations.
Love co-existing with unlovely sentiments & actions of anger, of jealousy, of frustration, of judgements, of unwanted dependence.
But love, always love.
Family as it is,
Family as it should be-
Lovely & unlovely moments, always home. And to each, their own version of it.
